Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Archetype AI ("we", "us", "our") is a workplace personality and career exploration tool. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored and processed, and the choices you have. We try to collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we never sell your personal data.

2. What We Collect and Where It Lives

  • Your analysis input and results: the text you write and your quiz answers, plus the personality, career, and explorer results we produce from them. Your most recent results are saved to your browser (localStorage) and, when the service is configured with a server database, to a protected database keyed to an anonymous browser session - not to your name or email.
  • Account data (optional): if you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. Creating an account is optional; you can use the assessments without one. Account sign-in sets a session cookie so the server can recognise you.
  • Session identifiers: when a server database is enabled, we issue an anonymous session identifier (stored in a cookie) so your saved results are associated with your browser across visits. It does not contain your name or email.

3. How Your Input Is Processed (AI)

Your analysis text and answers are sent from your browser to our server, which forwards them to the MiniMax API (MiniMax-M2.5) solely to generate your analysis. The API call goes through our server proxy so that our API credentials are never exposed in the browser. We do not use your inputs to train our own models, and we do not sell them. MiniMax's own handling of API requests is governed by MiniMax's privacy policy.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to persist your saved results and profile settings across visits. Depending on how you use the service we may also set a small anonymous session cookie (for server-side saving) and, if you are signed in to an account, a session cookie for authentication. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand how the service is used (for example, which pages are visited). Analytics data is aggregate and does not identify you personally.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Browser data: clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes everything stored on your device.
  • Server-side results: results saved under an anonymous browser session can be erased by clearing your browser's site data, which also removes the session identifier that links to them.
  • Accounts: if you created an account, you can delete it at any time from the dashboard (Sign Out / Delete account). This removes your name, email, password, and account-linked data. If you have trouble, contact us and we will delete the account on your behalf.

7. Children's Privacy

Archetype AI is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Archetype AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
